Battlefield Command Support System (Int, GIS)

In 1998, ADI was subcontracted by Saab Systems to provide and develop software tools to assist military intelligence staff, military engineering staff and commanders in planning and executing tactical missions. The Battlefield Command Support System (BCSS) (Int) and the BCSS (GIS) are subsystems of the Australian Army's BCSS.

The BCSS (Int) and BCSS (GIS) are employed at tactical and operational levels to assist in the production, analysis and dissemination of intelligence information to determine the following:

  • Enemy capabilities

The BCSS (Int, GIS) aids battlefield synchronisation, situation awareness, near real-time visualisation and storing of encyclopedia data.
