Ballistic and Mine Blast Protection

Using the resources of ADI's heavy engineering facility at Bendigo the company has developed a world class capability in ballistic and mine blast protection in military vehicles.

The design and development of the Bushmaster has focused on providing a totally integrated mine blast and ballistic protection package that provides significant crew and vehicle system protection in addition to rapid long distance deployment, excellent cross mobility, crew comfort and situation awareness.

Some of the features of ADI's proven ballistic/mine blast protection in military vehicles include:

  • High hardness armour
  • Specialist welding processes
  • Monocoque hull design
  • Confirmation testing of protection to withstand NATO 5.56 and 7.62 ball ammunition
  • Testing to confirm ability to protect occupants and power pack against Claymore mines and anti-personnel mines
  • An upgrade package which increases the level of protection to ensure against 5.56 and 7.62 armour piercing ammunition

Dependent on the requirement, a range of materials can be used to satisfy a specific threat level.

The Bushmaster has been proven to provide the best possible protection against the blast of a landmine.
