Minehunter Ship Communications System

Customer

Royal Australian Navy (RAN)

History

ADI is the prime contractor for the supply of six minehunter ships to the RAN. ADI developed the concept of a small ship's communications system to implement the RAN requirement for secure Naval communications.

In March 1995, ADI elected to subcontract the design of the integrated system to CEA Technologies while ADI provided overall project management, systems engineering and equipment procurement.

The first ship, HMAS HUON was commissioned in 1999, followed by HMAS HAWKESBURY in 2000, HMAS NORMAN in 2000, HMAS GASCOYNE in 2001, HMAS DIAMANTINA in 2002 and HMAS YARRA in 2003.
