Joint Command and Intelligence

ADI enjoys an international reputation as the developer of state-of-the-art electronic systems. Our systems enhance a command team's effectiveness in planning and executing operations at a strategic, operational and tactical level.

We are the leading supplier of command, control, communications, computers and intelligence systems to the Australian Defence Force (ADF). An ADI Joint Military Decision Support System supports the Royal Thai Supreme Command's army, navy and air force. The Five Powers Defence Arrangement's Headquarters Integrated Air Defence System at Butterworth, Malaysia, is an ADI command support system variant.

The generic ADI command support system is the basis of the joint task force command system which links ADF headquarters in Canberra with every major land, air and maritime headquarters in Australia. It is one of the world's largest integrated multi-service systems operating with 3000 workstations at 40 locations. A deployable joint force headquarters system which delivers all the facilities of a shore headquarters has been designed, developed and installed by ADI on the Royal Australian Navy's (RAN) amphibious transports HMAS MANOORA and HMAS KANIMBLA. With the system providing satellite communications, an integrated intelligence data base, secure network, and a command support system to assist with management inflows, MANOORA and KANIMBLA provide the Navy's most capable communications platforms able to fully support the deployed Joint Task Force Commander.

Messaging, surveillance and reconnaissance, tactical and mission support planning and information security are some of the functions enhanced by our C4ISR systems.

Providing integration services for complex military requirements is a well-established ADI capability. These services cover a range of applications including communication systems, missile and gunnery fire control systems, radar and electronic warfare naval combat data. ADI's two AUD$1 billion RAN projects - the construction of the Huon Class minehunters and the upgrade of the combat and sensor systems on the six guided missile frigates - are both essentially complex systems integration tasks.

ADI's Special Operations Command Support System (SOCSS) is a complete software, hardware and communication system for Special Forces and Emergency Management activities. Core to the ADF's Special Forces command support system, SOCSS provides mission planning, situation awareness, intelligence, incident logging and reporting, workflow management and end-to-end connectivity from fixed-site headquarter locations to deployed tactical environments. The system exploits the very latest in web, Java, groupware and database storage and replication products to provide a system that is robust and rapidly deployable.

ADI provides an extensive range of support services for all its electronic systems customers with through life support for communications equipment and military and commercial radars, antennas, radomes and sonars.
