ADI's navigation, control and optical repair and maintenance service at our Garden Island facility has the capacity to fully overhaul and set to work navigation aids, optical systems, internal communications, power control systems and instrumentation.

Gyro Compasses and Repeaters

This servicing capability is unique in Australia as ADI possesses the only facilities and technical expertise to fully service gyro compasses, stabilised gyro compasses, stabilising gyros, associated data transmissions and display equipment.

Facilities for the servicing of gyro compasses include:

• Laminar flow clean room A.S. Class 3.5
• Equipment for dynamic balancing
• Equipment for leak detection in hermetically sealed units
• Equipment for overhauling floating sphere type gyros (Sperry)
• Equipment for repair and testing of Litton AN/WSN-2 compasses and "SCORSBY" ship motion monitors
• Equipment for the optical alignment of the system to weapons' fire control platforms

ADI also maintains synchro signal amplifiers, associated transmitters and course indicators.
