BDU-33 Practice BombADI's BDU-33 practice bomb and F2 spotting charge are used to simulate MK82 and MK 84 bombs in low drag configurations. The BDU-33 practice bomb can be loaded onto Triple Ejector Racks (TERs) and Suspension Units (SU) and are easily transported to and from aircraft on loading trailers.
These 650mm long, 25 pound practice bombs accurately simulate large and heavier live bombs by their tail fin guidance system. ADI's BDU-33 practice bombs also feature the F2 spotting charge. This unique spotting charge releases a distinct cloud of white smoke on impact, allowing observers to gauge the effectiveness of the bombing run. The F2 spotting charges are designed to fit into the nose cone of the practice bomb and once the arming pin is released will detonate when the target is hit. ADI's BDU-33 practice bombs can be loaded as conventional live munitions on loading trailers and locked into place underneath all aircraft that will support MK82 0r MK84 ordnance. ADI practice bombs are supplied in re-useable containers. Each container houses 45 units and is clearly marked and identifiable. ADI's BDU-33 practice bomb range consists of the following four items:
